Lincoln facing big games against Hill, YB

The teams in the West Valley Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League reached the halfway point in the 2012 season last week, and the Lincoln boys have beaten all but one of the other clubs in the division. The Lions finished the first half with a 6-1 record and sharing first place with Andrew Hill. They beat everyone on their schedule, except third-place Yerba Buena. Lincoln will get the chance to right that wrong next week the Lions visit the Aztec Warriors for a key game on Jan. 31, 7:30 p.m.

Rams, Lions each win two games, to set up classic boys soccer battle

It was setting up to be a classic battle between two local rivals. The Lincoln and Willow Glen boys soccer teams entered play this week separated by just three points in the standings in the Mt. Hamilton Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League, and depending upon results in Tuesday afternoon games, first place most likely was going to be on the line in their Jan. 26 clash.
